snowstorm in zurich

There was a big snowstorm in Zurich this week. The snow falling beneath the lamp in front of my building was kind of poetic. Of course it looks a bit crappy on my little film here.

monsters are dying out!

Seems like all the famous monsters are slowly dying out... Ben Chapman, a decorated Korean War veteran and real estate executive best known for playing the title character in the 1954 horror film "Creature From the Black Lagoon," passed away on February 21, 2008 at the age of 79. Chapman's role as the Gill Man, the quintessential 1950s monster in Universal Pictures' black-and-white film in 3-D, made him a favorite in the collectibles and sci-fi convention circuit all over the world. R.I.P.!

r.i.p. vampira

On January 10, 2008, Maila Nurmi, better known as the legendary 1950’s Los Angeles B-movie horror hostess “Vampira”, passed away in her sleep at the age of 86. Said to be the inspiration for the Morticia Addams character in “The Addams Family” (among hundreds of other wanna-be Goth-Girls), Vampira was the original “glamour ghoul” and the iconic star of Ed Wood’s “Plan 9 from Outer Space” and was also the subject of the classic song “Vampira” from the classic Misfits 1982 release “Walk Among Us”.
R.I.P. Vampira!
